I can still cancel my pre-order online. Usually you
Can cancel until the status is "item located in stock" and since these are still listed as out of stock...

I also found for my preorder of a few things (I haven't checked everything) that the date on the packing slip was when they shipped it, not when it was ordered, so returns haven't been a problem.

All of this has been my experience as well, just assuage some member's fears.

It can be cancelled anytime until it comes in stock. You don't pay until it ships and you have 45 days from the shipping date to return it to the store. Shipping usually takes only a few days. You can also price match at the store if there is a sale.

I have ordered several times from the website and have never had any issues.

Only problem that I can see is that they can't ship Grimmy to Quebec.

I think they need to balance their online sales with the needs of their physical locations and customers. They likely even run them as two separate entities - as in just because something is available in store that doesn't mean it will be available online or vice versa.

Does anything on the pre-order agreement promise online customers they they will receive their purchase before it is in stores?

I don't think there is any guarantee that if you pre-order an item, you'll get it before it shows up in stores. I believe its a convenient way to procure yourself an item without having to hunt around.

Third party companies love the preorder because it makes everyone in the chain feel so much more comfortable when they have revenue certainty before they go into "mass" production.

6 showed up at my TRU and I bought them all. Selling them $300 each plus shipping.

Re: Transformers Masterpiece Grimlock Released at Canadian Retail

Looks like this MP Grimlock will be an even bigger headache than MP10. I guess it just means that they're not charging enough for him?...I just hope he'll show up at some point. Good sign for Hasbro to make more, rather than jack the price up for the remaining stock.
