LEGO Technic Motorized Excavator

http://technic.lego.com/en-US/Products/8043.aspx

I am contemplating getting this as a self congratulatory birthday gift to myself. Does anyone have this, and if so, would you recommend it?

Cheers.

Re: LEGO Technic Motorized Excavator

I don't have that specific one, but Lego Technic is awesome in general, and I used to use that shit all the time to make robots & things.

Just don't... sit on them, especially while the engines are installed. One of them might break, thus making you cry a sea of bricks.

Re: LEGO Technic Motorized Excavator

I got it last winter and i really like it. I bought it for the model (lot of lego ingeneering) and for the parts (4 motors,2 IR receptors, 2 IR remotes, 4 linear actuators, the bucket and many others parts I didn't have before). It is cool to operate and surprisely strong despite the use of medium motors but it's relative. I have only two complaints shared by many lego technic fans: you can't use the moving functions and the arm functions at the same time and the arm can't go lower than the ground level but it's not enough to make the set unworthy. The B-model is smaller but cooler to operate. As a technic fan, I can only recommand you to buy it you won't regret it. You'll find beter prices in US or at Costco.ca (199.99$).
