Fansproject Warbot Defender is still a great Slavish G1 figure, this new figure is also fantastic but is more modern comic inspired Springer.

There's room in my collection for both

Hot damn, can't wait to find these two on shelves.
I'm sure it will be awhile though.

Just when I think Hasbro has given up and relegated the Generations line low priority, they pull out these two gems. I really hope these things fly off the shelves so we get more like them in the future.

Bravo Hasbro.

I'm still probably gonna hang on to my FP Defender by pure virtue of his engineering. He's a great toy with some awesome concepts and designs.

...That being said, come next year he will no longer be my personal Classics Springer, and will be promptly moved to a different shelf to be just another neat toy I own.

The characterful bot mode design with that swagger. The fact that there's a stark difference in the silhouette of the car and copter modes. That sweet sword design. Sorry Defender. You've been usurped. HARD.

Yep. He's just a straight Classics design. He doesn't follow any of the FoC/WfC Springer designs/artwork, neither of his modes are very Cybertronian, and the most telling fact is that there's no Fall of Cybertron labelling on the box at all.
