Re: Toy prices expected to rise more

I am so glad I finally quit this hobby. It's a fucking shame but I'm not interested in being scammed and hosed by these twats.

Re: Toy prices expected to rise more

Deluxe figures already got a 70% price increase within 5 years. And that will just keep on going? Good thing I'm approaching the end of my collection.

Sorry, but your friend doesn't know as much as they claim. ALL workplaces are unionized in Vietnam.

Not lowering prices while lowering costs is the whole point. Capitalism requires constant growth and when you can't raise profits or market size, you undercut production.

I'm actually thankful SS is only doing a handful of Bayverse releases a year now.

Fair enough!

Yeah, capitalism is fucked.

Re: Toy prices expected to rise more

Is there a facepalm emoji I can use here?
It's too bad, because the figures are getting more advanced and more detailed, and Hasbro is attempting to design what the fans want, but the price doesn't come close to justifying the purchase for most figures. The perceived consumer value, for me, is about half of what the price has gone up to already, across the board. In some (progressively rarer cases) I'm willing to splurge, but my consumer behaviour has changed, likely forever.

Re: Toy prices expected to rise more

It's TreasureHunt/ValueVillage/the SallyAnn for me, brothers

Saw a Kingdom Core OP @ THunt the other day
Card may have been crushed to sh*t, but that fig only gonna cost somebody seven bucks

Saw a Kingdom Dinobot a while back (gone now), it went for twenty

If I thought there was a market at all for (returned) figs I'd snap them all up to bring to cons

Older Bayverse figures were more complex and detailed.

That's a ludicrous perspective.
