The Botropolis set is two Deluxes and two Micromaster pairs. Individually, that would run you close to $90 CDN before the price increase.

Thanks for the heads up about the other thing too. If you can, maybe edit the link in your quote to match? Hopefully the new one works better...

That's unfortunate, I could stomach the price increase if quality, detailing/paint, or even QC was improved... but it's getting worse in all categories for a higher price.

Re: Amazon.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

Whatever comes after Kingdom had better be amazing or I'm probably scaling way back or dropping out entirely. The price hikes are getting insane before you even factor in the stress levels of actually being able to find anything that's decently popular or an exclusive.

Re: Amazon.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

Is this the new standard price point for voyagers? Thought hasbro upped the prices of only deluxes. After kingdom if they go unicron trilogy I'm out, unless they release some obscure needed g1 characters. The studio series 86 line is where I will keep focus

Re: Amazon.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

Yeah, new MSRPs for deluxes/voyagers is $30/$45 CAD as far as I'm aware. Leaders are also whatever we're gouged to be on par with $50 USD (?).

I think the most efficient plan is pick-and-choose. Kingdom Cyclonus was good enough that I didn't mind paying full from a local hobby shop for him. Passing on Beast Wars because of the price hike and the overly realistic alt. modes (although Unicron9 has a sick custom Dinobot at TFW I'm enamored with).

Re: Amazon.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

EB website shows voyagers at 39.99, TRU website shows kingdom voyagers at 39.99. Walmart has them for 39.99.... Amazon is running a hustle right now because people are stuck at home, places dont have stock and such. They jacked their price because they can and people will pay it. I do not think MRSP is going up with this wave.

Remember when buying online was cheaper than in store?

That previous price hike was to match our weakened Canadian dollar. Takes time to adjust. Which sucks doubly now that the US dollar has finally weakened by comparison.

Not convinced on the voyagers but the deluxes are now all being sold at the 33$ price point. Same increase found for the star wars and marvel toys of the same price point.

I only remember online being cheaper when it came to yearly anazon deals but not much outside of that.
