It's worth what ever you're willing to pay for it. With that said, that is a high price. Isn't the Takara version 199? So that's another option if you think the person is scalping.

twice the original retail price would probably get you a Takara one without crown.
Other than personal perception, I would say ebay's bidding price would be reveal the value and the need of people in the world if they can not get those locally.

Ebay prices are not too bad. You can get a MISB one for $100 plus shipping. You have to remember that TRU Canada raised the price to $79.99 after a couple of weeks, so once you factor in tax, you were paying close to $90 anyway.
You can also get loose and MIB ones for like $60-$70.

If you willing to pay for it, then I think between $90-110 for the domestic relase is a fair price for him now.
