Nocturn's Obscure Transformers Reviews
So, as I find myself in large amounts of free time and in a generally creative spirit, I have decided to undertake a task of reviewing transformers. This, however, was instantly met with a large obstacle: most reviewers tend to review the new and notable. Well, the last time Calgary got anything first, it was Herpes. So I have chose to instead of strive to be the first opinion, rather take a retrospect on some of the losers of the transformers world. You know, toy's that were never in their respective media, the shelfwarmers, the background characters, the obscure.
Anyway, let's get cracking with...

Transformers: The Movie
Toys 'R Us Exclusive
Inferno
Inferno is originally an Armada mold, Red Alert.
Despite not at all fitting in with the movie aesthetic, as this toy's giant voyager size, the truck mode is rather imposing.
His mini-con, Longarm.
Now we're getting somewhere: POWERLINX ACTION
For someone who's supposed to be a medic, he sure packs major heat.
Two of the four hardpoints in this mode are live. Place Longarm on the top one and push forward for LIGHTS AND SOUNDS WOWOWOWOWOWOOOO. Pull backward for BFG
Place Longarm on the hood one and his grill opens like a butterfly. Then, push him forward for DEATH DISC
*transformation noise*
Looking nice and red. Shoulda kept your name, man.
Hey look-useful kibble!
Mini-con platform, in case one needs to touch down... The hardpoint is dead.
The other skirt piece stores his guns that plug into his left forearm, not interesting enough for a picture.
The gimmicks all transfer over. With the one on the helipad, there are now five hardpoints.
The BFG can also be held in hand, for such badassery as this.
I'm still not sure how that catcher missile is intended to catch anything...
FIN.

MOVING RIGHT ALONG

Revenge of The Fallen
Scout Class
Depthcharge
I'M ON A BOAT
Anyone who watched some later season beast wars should instantly recognize the name. ROTF Depthcharge, like many toys in the ROTF line, actually went through an extensize concept stage which may be indicative of a possible role in Micheal Bay's blockbuster (turd)
*Completely stolen image
It's a shame his aquatic bot mode ended up so...
...yeah.
http://images.wikia.com/transformers...d/Tf_sound.ogg
His actual bot mode though, is pretty kickin (and with those legs... kickin'd hurt)
Interestingly enough, his legs can be configured two ways:
Solid
And Bay
To me, those second legs look two spider-like for an Autobot.
Thankfully though, this guy's got wicked poseability out his ass thanks to these weird legs.
"Take THAT Revoltech!"
However, there's something else This little guy can do. Something awesome, something... very Canadian.
IT'S...
KAYAK/SLEDGE HOCKEY GIANT ROBOT
This is actually the mode I keep mine in. To get this mode, simply don't transform his legs, but fold up his feet like you'd do for bot mode.
AWESOME
ACTION
POSING
Fin.
