Never liking how maple money keeps dwindling in value though. Swoop and Snarl are going to push $100 before taxes by the time they're ready to ship...

When the announcement of the Dinobots was done, I was hoping for more than they turned out to be.
The thing is...
I absolutely love the POTP ones that had the G1 styles as perfect as possible, and while the combining gimmick didn't really appealed to me at first, it grew on me very quickly for some reason.
Trouble was that I eventually found them too small and Volcanicus too skinny. I either had to go with the PE kit or get the oversized Black Mamba KOs. I went with the kit and have to say that it improved Volcanicus a LOT, but still, it bugged me that they were so small and just didn't feel right with the rest of my figures.
So when the SS86 started, oddly enough, I found that they are too big. The comic/cartoon look to them also is something that does not appeal to me at all. And with taxes, they are fairly close to 100$ each.
Wanting the G1 esthetics and larger size, I ended up looking at what my options were, and 3rd parties have a few out there.
Short version, I ended up ordering Shuraking which at voyager size (or a tad larger) seem perfect for the size, the G1 look, and the Volcanicus combining capacity is also there...
For a few days I wondered if I should spend the amount that it goes for, but as you mention.. these Hasbro ones are already going for around a 100$ each anyways, so for just a few extra dollars for figures that matches what I want for my Dinobots, I dove in and did the order.
And on top of it, I'll have the complete set so no waiting for a few years to get all of them either.
I'm now spinning on my chair waiting for them to get here.
Anyways, not that I'm saying anything bad about the Hasbro ones, just that they aren't what I hoped for, and for the money, there was other options... which is kinda my point...
