Re: What are your thoughts on MP-52? (Starscream)

Like the toon look about time they invested a little more enginering not much of aback pack...
. although there are so may characters left makes me wonder wtf..
Lastly way overpriced so I'll be looking further at third party or wait for the eventual ko

Re: What are your thoughts on MP-52? (Starscream)

I love the articulation and like the look but not enough to justify the cost. Some of those faces look really bad and the clamp, cosmic rust rock and drill are pretty much useless. I'll keep my MP-11 Seekers but might splurge for the eventual Coneheads unless I can get a great deal on the current ones

I'd also wait for the ko too, but I'm worried because of what's been happening to the ko companies. Many of the e-tailers in China were worried about shipping the KO MP-44 because of the possibility of it being confiscated (even though many of us were able to get one without any trouble).

Re: What are your thoughts on MP-52? (Starscream)

It looks nice. But is it worth the price tag when I'm still pretty satisfied with the current version I have? For me, that's a big fat NO.

When I look at MP shelves, and see all the holes still to be filled, I just shrug. I'm not paying the inflated prices of these new MPs. There was a time when 3rd party was the expensive option. MP seekers were like $70. Now, WTF. I can't justify the price tags.

It's KOs or bust now.

Re: What are your thoughts on MP-52? (Starscream)

So, can anyone confirm that MP-10 KO doesn't come with the trailer or box, or whether MP-10 KO's matrix opens or not?

Thanks!

Re: What are your thoughts on MP-52? (Starscream)

I agree with a lot of the sentiments here; it's impressive, but the price tag is a bit much, and the obsession with toon accuracy has largely turned me away after MP-36 (which Amazon flubbed and ended up letting me have for free after an arduous back-and-forth).

MP-10 was a happy medium between the goofy looking diaclone toy and the cartoon we loved. All those + repaints of Hasui era designs is such a clash of design intents that I can't get behind either.

Re: What are your thoughts on MP-52? (Starscream)

I think MP-52 looks awesome. It shows the crazy quality engineering TT does these days which should still be playable for an adult (I transform MP-36 and MP-44 frequently for example) - MP Bumblebee 2.0 excepted - the backpack is awful.

Honestly, it blows away MP-11, who always looked iffy to me and a story of compromises.

I wish the price was better... I prefer molded plastic over scratch-tastic paint (again, stupid MP Bumblebee 2.0 is the worst, but MP-44's grey stripes in robot mode are bad too) which I think could have made it cheaper. But still, I'm all in. Already sold my 3 MP-11's (Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp).

I'm nervous about the coneheads though... I know they will go after them eventually, I suppose, but I always found their cartoon models noticeably different from the original trio that I'm keeping my MP-11 NTs for now.

Re: What are your thoughts on MP-52? (Starscream)

I think it looks great. It is expensive, though, so I won't be going for repaints and retools. Getting a pre-order discount really makes it more palatable.

Waiting to preorder from Amazon Japan. It will likely be the cheapest (or very close) and fastest option once again.
