Weird Canada Post Tracking?

A week and a half ago I sent packages to two different Cybertron.ca members in Ontario at the same time from the same post office in Quebec. One arrived pretty fast, but the other one is stuck at "in transit" and the only thing the tracking page says is "Item accepted at the Post Office". It hasn't updated in almost ten days.

I contacted my local post office and the agent said it's not the first time lately that he's seen it happen. He said they don't keep the packages so it must be in the system somewhere. I also contacted online chat help but they couldn't give me any information other than what the tracking page says. There's a telephone number but when I called the wait times were too long and I doubted that they'd give me more information than the chat help gave me.

I understand COVID affecting delivery times but this is damn odd. Anybody else had this problem?

Call the local post office and see if they can look in the backroom. I dropped a package off recently and instead of putting it in the outgoing bin they put it in the incoming bin.

I suggest creating a service ticket to have it tracked down. The longer the delay, the harder it is to locate the package.

Were you sending to members in your local area?

I've ordered some knick-knacks on eBay from across the country previously, and some times those packages have taken an inordinate amount of time to make it out to where I am.

COVID must be mucking with the system hard.

I opened a ticket with Canada Post. Let's see how that goes.

Considering I just heard that they had over 100 positive cases in the large distribution center located in Mississauga I would expect that there have been major delays in that area due in part to the potential spread of the virus rapidly through the postal service employees.

Chances are it's sitting in a truck waiting to be scanned and sorted.

Also maybe QC's extreme COVID lockdown (curfew, etc) has something to do with it? Like maybe post office is understaffed, etc

We all prob just got to have patience

Nope, it's just bad luck. Everything is working as normal. Order from CMDstore.ca in 24 hours, order from Robotoybase in 4 business days, etc.

Like I mentioned earlier, I sent two packages to Ontario at the same time. One arrived, one hasn't. The one that arrived was a big box and the other much smaller. The big box had a G1 Trypticon in it. Maybe he got hungry while in transit.

Shipping is god awful right now. I’ve had Amazon send me the same item three times this month and not once has it ever gotten beyond ‘package has shipped’. Leaves from a mystery destination and is never scanned again.
