2 studio series #53 is 1 of them a rare prototype factory error??

please look at pics lmk.
Please look at pics and comment.
Now in head mode the by friction it stays together.
But does not attach in robot mode there is no connecter piece.
And a its not broken it looks to be missing the connector for the panels.
How could a prototype get released??
Please share thoughts.
