MP-5 Megatron - ILLEGAL to Import to Australia

Fun Fact: Did you guys knows that its illegal to import an MP-5 Megatron to Austalia? Laws concerning this masterpiece despot vary with state and territory, for example in New South Wales, you need a weapons permit to own one.

Here's a page detailing information on import/possession, jurisdiction by jurisdiction:

Yeah, they've got some serious anti-gun laws in Australia and I guess gun-like toys fall under them.

On the other hand, maybe they could use this in the states, seeing as how the cops there have a nasty habit of shooting kids with toy guns :S

Thankfully I live in Canada :D ...and I'd say that with the whole, "man, they're taking this way outta hand!" were it not for the fact that people actually do hold up people with fake toy guns.

I bought an old school Sega Master System light phaser the other week and just for shits did some research...yup, somebody got themselves killed because they tried to 'use' one of those to commit a robbery of some sort.

That said, give me an accurate MP Megatron or GIVE ME DEATH. That's all I have to say about that.

Old news, VERY old news. I also don't live in Australia so I really don't give two shits what stupid laws they have.

Easy there. Just because its old news doesnt mean someone isnt interested in hearing it. I prrsobally didnt know south wales had laws regarding licencing for owning a toy gun.
And its actually a pretty serious thing. Even here. Someone can get killed, (and has been), for carrying around a replica gun. Especially ones likevthe original megatron and hegemon that look even more real than the mp05 cannon.

I was actually amazed when he originally was shipped over here that they had managed to get him through customs at all. I was super excited to get him, until i discovered that he was an anemic anorexic lookalike of the real megatron gladiator.
Glad third party gave me a decent veraion for chug and appolyon is great as a proper mp.

Just because some do stupid/anti-social things, prohibition is not the answer. I read once about a guy robbing a gas station using his hand in a gun-shape in his jacket pocket. Surely it does not follow that the rest of us lose our hands!
