Damn. I was hoping this line would stay Target-exclusive.

Careful, rumor is the next SS86 wave will include it much like wheelie was included with Grimlock.

Someone in Quebec paid $27.99+tax a few days ago.

That little Spike Exosuit is cool, but even at $22.99+tax, am I the only one that feels like that Bumblebee is something that should come with my McDonalds Happy Meal?

Nah it's a fine little figure that fits in fine with the old Legends/Cyberverse scale. Especially with the Spike exo-suit fig added.

What doesn't work is the price. $23 is way too high for what you get.

Re: Transformers Buzzworthy Bumblebee Released in Canada

Gross.

These prices are getting crazy. As someone said this looks like a Mikey Ds toy.

In the Amazon thread there was mention of Voyagers going for $45.99 (and possibly TRU as well).

With the hard to get online exclusives, continual price increases and poor store distribution this hobby is starting to feel like a 2nd job now, lol.

I agree that this set is too expensive, but to say this looks like a McD's toy is being overly dramatic. Seems par for the course for these boards..

No kidding. When was the last time y'all went to a McDonalds?

I am not interested in buying this Bee, but if it was a happy meal toy and there were other similar quality characters available, than I would probably be living off of McDs Happy Meals for awhile. My wife might question why everyone (adults and kids) has to get Happy Meals...

$27.99?

WOW.

Even $23.99 is really pushing it.

This looks like a budget Core figure packed with a sub-Micromaster level figure in Spike. Feels like $20 should be the absolute high end of the scale.

But then again we now live in a world where apparently Deluxes are moving to $33 and Voyagers to $45. So clearly Hasbro knows they've got our money no matter what they do.

unless we're talking Commandrons, cause they'll always be unofficial G1 to me, and now that Tomy is in the family. TakaraTomy needs to do a minty reissue set. :) Sigh. I'm paying double for stupid Spike n' Son. Probably keep 1 'bee, assuming I can find them.

Re: Transformers Buzzworthy Bumblebee Released in Canada

I think my McDonalds Happy Meal comment probably should have been in the Venting thread.

Haven't purchased a McDonalds Happy Meal for my kids in many years, but yes the quality of the toys is awful, sadly it's just landfill filler.

Last time I got a toy from McDonalds would have been probably back in 2013 when Despicable Me 2 was released, those Minions toys were excellent quality! 2013 were the good times, when a Filet-O-Fish by itself was less than $4, real estate in Canada was affordable and my iPhone 5 was a kickass phone.

Getting back to this Buzzworthy Bumblebee set, it will definitely sell at regular retail price due to that Spike Exosuit.

That price is hilarious. Nope to the nope nope.

Hasbro is fishing for suckers with that price. No thanks. The price hikes lately were enough, this is ridiculous.

Re: Transformers Buzzworthy Bumblebee Released in Canada

This Bee/Spike pack is $14.99 US on Target.com. which is outrageously overpriced at TRU even with the exchange.

I dont think people know that Happy Meal TF toys have been non transforming with almost 0 articulation for over a decade.

looks like a happy meal or dollarama quality crap, good thing I got the MP KO of this set which looks completely legit.

Commandrons have more appeal than this weak attempt. Why are the toy manf lowering the quality on their lines, (at least the retro ones) they are flushing sales down the toilet if they keep this up.

This looks NOTHING like a happy meal toy.

Re: Transformers Buzzworthy Bumblebee Released in Canada

I guess the price makes sense now that I think about it. $15 for the core class figures (which is laughable). So 2 for $27 makes sense. Still not buying them. The core class figures have been kind of mediocre for their pricepoint (Prime can't even hold his gun properly).

I just bought the Jinbao Legends Optimus Prime for $40 on Ebay and that thing is impressive. Comes with a trailer and pretty much everything MP-10 came with. He's also fairly tall too (just about or exactly 5 inches tall). I ended up getting the Jinbao Megatron too (only $28).

Considering Spike a core class figure seems incredibly generous. He doesn't even transform properly (it's apparently just one flap that gets moved and then you lay him on his chest and you're "done") and only has arm articulation, no leg movement.

He's kind of like the equivalent of the empty armor piece from the PotP prime masters

Hence none of the current Core class figures are worth their current prices.

Rattrap is worth it. Amazing toy with fun transformation and great articulation. You get as much satisfaction from him as you do a deluxe class figure for half the price.

i didn't bother with core class until TRU sale, rattrap and vertebreak were suprisingly good. optimus prime was okay too.

Actual core bots aren't bad. They're surprisingly fun packed into tiny little packages. Rattrap is great and Optimus is a solid reproduction of a full-sized Optimus in a tiny package (if only he could hold his gun properly.) Megatron and Starscream look fun too.

Vertebreak looks cool in dino mode and maybe suffers a bit from a muddy palette in robot mode, putting him a step below the others for me.

The core bots so far are a couple notches above the previous line's minis (micro/battle/powermasters). Honestly they're about as hit/miss as Legends class figures were.

What do you mean? You mean because of the extra nub so deluxe figures can hold it or because you can't get the gun in his hand? The gun will fit you just need to press it in pretty hard the first couple times.

the wider nub for deluxe figures. I have no reason for a deluxe bot (or bigger) to hold what would be a long-barrel handgun sized version of Optimus' rifle, so I don't like that it's the reason that Optimus holds his own gun with a giant piece of the grip sticking out above his hand like he's just barely grasping onto the bottom of it nowhere near where the trigger would be. it's worse because Optimus is the only one it's done with. Rattrap's gun and Vertebreak's tail sword aren't given that two-tier peg to accommodate bigger figures using them.

The gun barely sits in the hand properly (it's floating and looks goofy). I bought Prime, Megs and Starscream and returned all 3. They're ok, but at $15 a pop, none of them are worth it (maybe except for Rattrap). $10-$12 maybe, but not $15. Definitely just my take, if you like them, totally go for it.

Here is a higher res pic, still doesn't look quality and they did not even bother to give spike a face.

Price is buzzworthy enough to generate 4 pages worth of comments ;)

It's not a good thing.
