Hello all, and welcome to the "Atlantic Canada Distribution issues" social group. I thought I'd give this a try as we Transformers fans in Atlantic Canada often use the "Maratimes sightings" forums as a place to vent our frustrations instead of actual sightings.
Well, I for one want to hear your complaints, and I want to complain along with you, so post away!

I'll start. Both Wal-Marts in Moncton / Dieppe have a whole lot of empty pegs. Zellers on Main St has 2-3 year old toys. I've probably bought more Transformers from Zellers Northwest Center in the last few months, but what I got came and went pretty quick. (Generations Blurr, Generations Thunderwing, Generations War for Cybertron Cliffjumper, Generations Dirge.)

Well, with any luck now that the big announcement has been made that Target is going to buy up all the Zellers across Canada, we might actually start getting regular shipments of newly released TFs!!!

I've heard that there are a few Wal-Mart's in the Halifax Metro Area; (Bedford Crossing, Mumford) etc. that have a good selection of Transfomers.

Hey Mega-Prime 316, nice to meet you the other day.
It's unfortunate to see a canadian company like Zellers being taken over completely by an american one, but at the same time it's no surprise. Zellers has been stuck in the 1980's with thier store designs and layout, and most of their stock is nearly that old too.
We'll see what Target does, and the question remains, will ALL Zelers become Targets? Just a few? Moncton has two Zellers, that dowsn't necessarily mean two Target stores, they may close one altogether.
It's all just speculation for now obviously.

I for one hope that they do keep both locations and convert them into Targets! Of the 2 locations the Main Street is the nicest looking but the Moncton Mall(Northwest Center) is the busiest. I just hope the upgrade their stock to current trends and maintain a consistant turn over. Main street Zellers is stocked with animated and 1st movie stuff at full price and the other is a little better but nothing that goes past Red Alert.

I've found that the distribution in the Atlantic Provinces has always been a little messed up. We will see a wave of toys released in Ontario, and from there who knows when they will show up here. I have seen sightings start in Ontario with that wave appearing in the Atlantic region the next week, or have the wave appear a few months later. It is very frustrating to see how unpredictable our distribution system is.
Also has anyone had the chance to check up on this supposed Jan 17th reset that was rumored to be happening?

Yeah, I agree with you MAP Prime, scout class Windcharger is a great example, that came out about two months ago in Ontario.
What do you mean by the Jan.17th reset?

I thought I read somewhere that some saw a notice saying that Wal MArt was resetting the TF shelves. IT is possible I just dreamed it up and I'm just going crazy.
From what I've seen of Windcharger he hasn't really been showing up in many other places, of course I could be wrong as I rarely check the other provinces sightings threads. Though it would be damn nice if distribution was a lot more efficient, waiting for months for something to show up in this end of the country when it appears further west is just crazy.

It is brutal to try and find out what new Transformers are coming out in the stores. walmart.ca and toysrus.ca are the crappiest websites, they don't even tell you what they have in stock when you look for a specific Transformer.
