So spin off from another topic. Star Wars is getting released on blu-ray tomorrow. Are you buying it? I am on fence knowing that the Evil Alliance of FOX and Darth Lucas will whore their own children to the death, with numerous repack and “special editions”. I skipped the first blu-ray release of the LOTR because I knew New Line will inevitably release the extended edition. Given that the once strong sales of DVD are now as dead as Hayden Christensen’s acting, and blu-ray sales are flat, Studios’ home video dept are relying on selling the classic movies. The review on blu-ray.com is decent. But I am just not convinced. Spend $34.99 on the EP IV. V, IV pack or buy the $79.99 “complete” saga with same old special features and with EP I, II III which I will watch only the last 10-15 minutes fights of each of the prequels?
When Fox release the ALIEN ANTHOLOGY blu-ray same time year it was like $89, then in 2-3 month it dropped to $49 at Costco. I think I’ll just wait.

Yeah, not buying either, especially until I hear all the details of what crap has been changed for these. They always get cheaper eventually anyway.

"Noooooo Noooooo"
-Darth Vader from the end of ROTJ (well now anyway)
I was so excited that these were coming out as I passed on the "original" original trilogy re-release on DVD. But then the giant hipocrite put his fingers back in and changed MORE stuff, if the price drops I might get them but I can't feed the machine that is Lucas. I'll tell you though, if the original versions were packed in as well I would buy this day one, no question.
