Transformers Creator Bob Budiansky to attend TFcon 2012 |

TFcon is honored to welcome Transformers creator Bob Budiansky to TFcon 2012 for his first ever Canadian appearance. Mr. Budiansky is responsible for much of the writing of the original Marvel Transformers comic, and conceived the names of most of the original Transformers including Megatron. He also wrote the vast majority of the descriptive tech spec biographies printed on the Transformers toy packages that Hasbro produced in the 1980s, giving each character it’s own unique personality.
Mr. Budiansky will be taking part in a Q&A panel and autograph session with the attendees of the Canadian Transformers Collectors Convention.

TFcon 2012 Art, Custom and Costume Contest Info |

2012 sees the return of the TFcon art and customs contest. Entries may be submitted from 9 am until 12 pm the Saturday of the convention. After 12 pm all art pieces will be judged by the TFcon Art Judges. The winner will be announced at a time on the event schedule. This year there will be 3 categories for the art contest attendees are welcome to enter, 2D, 3D, and costume. All entries are to be PG-13. Pieces previously entered cannot be entered again. No collaborative entries, the piece has to be 100% your own creation. Limit of two entries per person. For more details check out the TFcon website.

Nostalgia Much?
Canadian Slag covers some pretty interesting topics… but it pretty much devolves into a discussion about how much we miss Beast Wars. We discuss the extent adult collectors are affected by the cartoons and comics when it comes our purchases, buying Transformers with no backstory, we learn about Dreadwing in our latest Getting to Know segment, as well as discuss the recently announced Transformers: Prime Gaia Unicron and Jet Vehicon figures to be released in Japan later this year.
