Walmart Canada Rollback on Transformers Generations Deluxes

Okay I just checked Walmart.com & it would appear that this is in fact a new set price for the Generations deluxe line. I believe it's just the IDW deluxe figures though & not the FOC deluxe figures.

I was hoping it would be both because I'd like to buy Sideswipe but I refuse to pay $17 for him. Oh well ... eventually I'll get it on sale.

Thanks to Goaliebot's 'Traildude' inspiration, I set off to my local (workplace) Walmart for a Trailbreaker quest on Friday.

And it wasn't a mistake cause there were 2 pegs labelled "Generations TF Deluxe $11.87"
It aint 9.92, but never look a gift horse in the saddle.
So I go scan Trail-dude and he scans at $16.99. At this point will I get a price scan policy luck? I didn't want to count on it.

Then I see an aisle-end display with the gen's clearly marked $16.99. So I go find an employee to explain everything, and he agrees that while an error, the pegs I found clearly match. So he removes 1 'wrong' peg-sticker, and gives me the other to take to the counter.

At the counter, the girl scans the sticker and it brings $16.99. She then manually enters the number code and same thing. Then she calls the manager on how to enter the price as 11.87, and the manager tells her to press some other buttons and the last I hear, she says "1.87".

Yups!
They error-honored, then scan mismatched me!

So I got Trailbreaker for $1.87!!!!

She then asks me if I'd like to donate to the Starlight foundation.
Now despite the cartoon-link to Jem, I'm normally too cheap .

But seeing how they just discounted me $15.12 off a $16.99 toy, I had to say yes!

that was the scanning code of practice. Walmart, Safeway, superstore, london drugs are all supposed to honor the policy. Superstore is probably the worst customer service in honoring this policy.

Many of these policies (scan, price match) are often not followed correctly by many stores. Depends a lot on the staff on duty.

In my case, most stores who honour it woulda given me $10 off the real price, so I'd pay 6.99.
They discounted off the False price and gave me a steal!
