The seller won't lower the price of his MISB or MIB item to accommodate the buyer's desire to pay less. Either the buyer will specifically look for the cheaper loose version right from the start to save on shipping, or he will buy one MIB or MISB at full price and then ask the seller to ship it loose to save.
Now, if seller A offers MISB item X for the same price as seller B's MIB or loose item X to generate a faster sale, that's a different story.
So yes, the general rule is MISB > MIB > loose/complete > loose/incomplete > junker

Sideshow and Hot Toys are the best examples I can think of. In fact, sometimes the box doesn't add any value whatsoever, if someone is looking to buy online and save on shipping costs.
Of course, the older an item is, the less likely this is to be true.

What does any of this have to do with value in MISB Vs Loose or no box?

its expected to pay less for a used item (loose) then a brand new one (MISB)

What about for a loose item with a mint box versus one with no box or a badly damaged one?

Personally, I would still consider it loose since the box is assumed to be worthless or close to worthless.

Not MISB Vs. Loose/no box.

I recall reading that "print runs" (not the correct term for toys, but whatever) from the '80s were actually much, much higher than they are now.
Don't you remember seeing those toy aisles back then?
Now, obviously that's not true for any given toy but generally, that was the case, apparently.

For the same price (~$200), you can have a MISB MP-13 or a loose one, which one will you choose?

Weren't there quite a few QC issues with MP-13? Unfortunately, a sealed figure can bring some risk, too.

Re: MIB, MISB, Loose - Is one worth more than the other??
What a great thread!
Again, contributing as a dealer, there is never a guarantee that MISB will bring you more value in a sale. When you are considering all of the mass release items, MISB really does not come in to factor a lot of the time. As a matter of fact, much of the time when we get in trades or buy collections, when we get in MISB items, much of the time we open it up and throw out the box as it will always sell better as a loose figure. If it is MIB, the chances of throwing out the box is even greater.
You should never ever buy toys as an investment. Investing that $100 you were going to spend on a toy will get you a much higher return in an RRSP than anything you can purchase off the shelf today. Enjoy the toy for what it is and what value it has for you and not what it can make for you.
Listen to Protoman, he seems to know what he is talking about.

Re: MIB, MISB, Loose - Is one worth more than the other??
not that i'm going to pipe in on the matter because i know from a selling standpoint i'll get a few extra bucks for MISB toys from parents who want new or collectors same....
but you remeber all the 90's exclusive comics that were one day going to be worth big dollars?
the ones they printed ten billion of?
yeah go looking in a quarter bin today to see most of them.
