Transformers DVDs

Why is it so hard to find out of print DVDs for less than 100$??? I just checked over at Amazon.ca for some Transformers DVDs. It would appear that unless it was released last year Amazon no longer stocks it.

Beast Wars Season One and Two, missing from my collection. 108$ or 109$ from third party sellers using Amazon as a vendor.

Transformers Energon, Transformers Cybertron, both complete series box sets are no longer in stock and it's only been like what? Two years since Paramount first released them? It's like they made limited production runs of the series for so many months and then decided to pull the plug or something.

Transformers Animated, impossible to find.

Ok, so I don't actually have enough money to afford any box sets right now, but damn it I want a complete TF DVD collection at least sometime in the future without resorting to paying 100$+ for a set of three disks or what have you.

Maybe SHOUT will give us Beast Wars after their done with G1, it's been a while since the Rhino sets came out so I guess it's a possibility.

But still, you'd think it'd be at least marginally easier to find good deals on some of these sets, or see them still in stock. Energon used to shelf warm like crazy and I never once saw the Cybertron set at retail after launch date. If they were that popular as to have sold out consistently since being first created wouldn't you think the company would make a second production run???

Um, can we say bitter and depressed much? Yeah I'm ranting, I think I'm just a little bummed out that I can't watch anything Transformers related without resorting to my VHS copies of the shows I really want to sit down and watch again. (Beast Wars, Armada I'm lookin' at you. Never did finish recording Energon, it was so difficult to remember when to program the VCR and then I wind up missing a few episodes so I just stopped.)

Re: Transformers DVDs

my rule of thumb is If you cant find the DVD on the store shelf. then its fair game to download it. especially old cartoons.

I live by this for games too. And if I enjoy the game a whole lot I buy it when I can find it.

From 1999 or so I played a pirated copy of Starcraft and Broodwar.

I hunted for those games and didn't find them until like 3 years later.

I was the same way for Deus Ex, Homeworld, Jedi Outcast, and a number of other games.

I had the complete G1 series (except for 1 episode) downloaded for the longest while. And then gradually I found the Rhino DVD sets. And at some point I'm hoping to get the recent matrix of leadership box set.

There's a few other TV series I've downloaded, many of them I never bothered to get through completely. If I really enjoy it I go out and try to find it.

Re: Transformers DVDs

You think that's bad, try some older Disney Dvd's.

@Shepp; You couldn't find Starcraft is 1999? I find that quite surprising.

Re: Transformers DVDs

I feel your pain buddy.

All I wanted to do was watch beast wars again. I looked all over e-bay and amazon, even checked the local value village and giant tiger to find nothing or ridiculous prices.

I said fawk it and use bit torrents and downloaded all 3 seasons of Beast wars and the 2 seasons of beast machines.

They come in avi format and you can watch them on your computer, or you could stream it via a ps3 to your tv, convert it to mpeg4 for the ipod, or convert to a readable DVD format and rip them to DVD's.

Tons of options....I'm almost done season 3.

Tell me about it! With a 3 year old, we're trying to put together a Disney collection for her and it's damn near impossible to track down some of them!

I know, I know, don't get me started on Walt Disney. Those Walt Disney Treasures go for INSANE prices. All I need is the releases from 2008 and 2007 plus the two Silly Symphony ones... ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH HHHH! Is all I'll say to that.

NEVER! Even if this computer wasn't old and tired I refuse to download, I WILL lay claim to the Transformers DVDs, I WILL, to quote Unicron, "IT IS MY DESTINY!"

I know what you mean, I still need a large portion of my VHS Disney's replaced by their DVD counterparts, but for the most part I've got a fairly large selection. I was buying up Disney films quite often during the summer times back in the day.

I've got some real favorites, The Ugly Dachschund, The Happiest Millionaire, Follow Me, Boys!, The Cat From Outer-Space, The Appledumpling Gang, No Deposit, No Return, Hot Lead, Cold Feet, The Three Lives of Thomasina, the list goes on.

If all else fails I will check every Pawn Shop and Used DVD store in the city. (How bad could their prices be?)

Unless Amazon carries few used dvd's compared to eBay. The used & opened products you may get a good deal on.

And I like your destiny!!
