ROTF review on IMDB

The guy didn't seem to like it. F*ck him!

Expensive, Explosive, Enourmously Rubbish, 13 June 2009

Author: anthony_toma from United Kingdom
I got to be part of the first screening in the world showing the final cut and I thought that would be brilliant however I was not expecting to be the first person in the world to witness a highly anticipated failure. This was the general concensus when talking to people after the movie. The start of the movie seemed to show the same elements from the first one such as the comedy within the family which was good however as the film goes on the comedy can almost be described as slap stick. In fact it is the very over used comedy but stopped me from actually being bored by the action ironically.

The movie is very long and the explosions were amazing but at one point I wanted them just to sit down and start talking. I felt that the movie became more of an indiana jones movie which ironically they went to the same location as the third Indiana Jones which was probably some Spielberg influence. The performances was good however, their were some awkward Shia performances which you will see when u view the movie. Megan Fox as always was looking amazing, but her character was very much under used and her role became more of a photo shoot with Micheal Bay using camera angles to highlight her beauty which is not that bad but does not make the movie that great. Again I'm trying to justify to you why I thought this blockbuster was such a disappointment.

The story felt like it was made up on the spot. As if the writers were winging it and therefore made the whole film feel ridiculous. I felt the story did not have to be so complicated and would have been much better if made simpilar. The dialogue throughout the movie was very hard to hear and this was reinforced by this same statement being said by many of those at the premiere.

One man said at the end of the movie that "thank god it was CGI based movie because otherwise it would have nothing going for it." I do hope you do see it in the cinema because I do not believe this movie should be seen any other way, but I was surprised that at points of the movie that my eyes glazed over because of how boring some scenes were. At points I could not believe some scenes were happening.

Anyway this my opinion let me know what u think of the movie.

Anthony

I got a feeling he's just some random non-fan who managed to got free tickets for the premiere. If it's actually true. You never know on IMDB.

Too much action... Not enough talking... Sounds good to me I'm going to see robot fighting... What did he expect? He does have point about Indy similarity... Starts at a college goes to ancient ruins with aliens...hmmmmm

Agreed. I love mindless action.

Perhaps the reviewer was still sore over Bay's "Pearl Harbor" debacle?

Nevertheless, why would a non-fan of big giant frakin' robots fighting go to a screening of ROTF in the first place?

Oh, right...it was probably free.
