Canadian Customs Regulators Reverse Ban on Masterpiece Megatron

According to a story in tomorrow's edition of The Globe and Mail, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal has reversed its ban on imports of Takara's Masterpiece Megatron. The figure, with his Generation One-updated Walther P-38 pistol mode, had been turned away at the border since its release under an Ottawa law prohibiting replica firearms.

But an RCMP forensics expert, after measuring the 30% size difference between Megatron's gun mode and his real-life counterpart, determined the Transformer was much too big to qualify as a replica firearm, so the Canadian ban on replicas does not apply. Good news for Canadian fans!

Funny thing is that I don't think anyone even KNEW that there was a ban...

Though I assume G1 Megs would be banned under this legislation? I mean, he's pretty much a replica, is he not? Or is he too small?

MP Megs is too big - which this article is clearly in reference to since G1 Megs certainly isn't 30% larger.

Even though G1 Megs is scaled down, the size is still pretty close to the real P-38, so it would be interesting to know if there are any issues with that one too.

Re: Canadian Customs Regulators Reverse Ban on Masterpiece Megatron

personally i think the scariest/funniest thing about this all is the fact that it took a "rcmp forensic expert"to figure out that any person in their right mind could tell its not real!lmao!!! if anyone ever tried using it in a crime they would probably end up on americas dumbest criminals!!
