Re: Generation One Cartoon Thread

So watching Season 1 again with my daughter I noticed a couple more small points. On Cybertron we see a green and a yellow seeker jet! Made me hope for them to drop them into the classics line so it will be easier to get a seeker to repaint as Thundercracker. Starscream is so expensive now.
Is that yellow one named Sunstorm? or is that from a different series/continuity?
Also how 'bout figures of Bumblebee, Wheeljack and the Seekers with their Cybertron Alt modes. Maybe they could do Cosmos and give it a Bumblebee repaint and head. I forgot how cool I think the "flying saucerbee" is.

Can anybody fill in the ? marks. Doesn't have to be cartoon, could be a comic book origin or something. Just curious.
I am not a hundred percent sure on the terrorcons but I remember it being mentioned once in an episode of Season 3 in the second half.

On a Side note, my fav g1 episodes were

Starscream's Brigade - Season 2
Prime Target - Season 2
Triple Takeover - Season 2
Call of the Primatives - Season 3
Web World - Season 3

Those are also my favorite G1 episodes, though I would also add "More than Meets the Eye" Parts 1-3 just since they were the start of it all.

Re: Generation One Cartoon Thread

I just watched a 'fan-dub" of Scramble City over on youtube. It was pretty good, but only half the episode seemed to be there. If you haven't seen it or have only seen the version on the 86 movie DVD go over and check it out. The voice work isn't bad at all unless your really hung up on Cullen and Welkers voices. Loved finally seeing an intro for Metroplex.............

All good episodes mentioned above. My favorite, though is Fire in the Sky. It introduces Skyfire and gives us some insight into Starscreams character.

I like the idea that someone as unstable as Starscream was once a scientist!

Re: Generation One Cartoon Thread

As a kid, Season 2 was my favorite since it was a little more advanced, had tons of my favorite characters show up like Omega Supreme, the Aerialbots, the Combaticons, the other 3 Seekers, triple changers, etc. along with keeping all the Season 1 guys in the spotlight, and it consisted of the most episodes that I would record on Beta (anyone remember that format, hehe), freeze frame and then proceed to draw. That's another big reason why TF's remain so close to me even as an adult - they are what motivated me to learn how to draw, experiment with three dimensional angles, learn proper use of color combinations, shadowing, etc.

But I will always have a soft spot for Season 1 since that's where it ALL started. Characters like Prime, Hound, Soundwave, Reflector... all the originals. The coolest thing I had ever seen. It was my Star Wars... if that makes sense.

Season 3 doesn't hold much weight with me since that's when I started drifting away from the franchise, specifically after Five Faces of Darkness. I didn't really like too many of the characters except Springer, thought the colors & designs completely defeated the point of disguise, hated anything to do with Quintessons, so on & so forth. I didn't even see the final 3 Headmasters epsiodes aka Season 4 until 1999 when I bought it on VHS... and gotta say that they're probably the 3 worst episodes I've ever seen. Looked to me like the animators & music supervicors from He-Man took over the show.

Standout episodes for me have always been More Than Meets The Eye 1-3, Heavy Metal War, Fire In The Sky, SOS Dinobots, The Ultimate Doom 1-3, War Of The Dinobots, Atlantis Arise, The Core, Dinobot Island 1-2, Megatron's Master Plan 1-3, The Secret Of Omega Supreme, The Key To Vector Sigma 1-2, Aerial Assault & War Dawn. I remember each of them like I just saw them yesterday.
