Scoria Loose Joints - This Is What I Did

LOOSE JAW FIX

***Of course proceed at your own risk***

I used this product to tighten up the jaw on Scoria. This was a real easy fix. Now my Scoria's jaw is tight.

1. Get this stuff.

Got it at Walmart. Just be warned, this stuff is sticky so I would use gloves but try to avoid getting this stuff on your fingers or else you may transfer it onto your Scoria. You will also need a toothpick and Q-tip.

2. OFF WITH HIS HEAD!

3. Remove the jaw.

This is actually real easy. Just apply pressure as shown.

4. Apply the sealer

Apply sealer to the diecast portion of the jaw, not the pegs on the head. Chrome and sealer do not mix. It stains and is hard to get off. So just work with the jaw. (see pic below)

5. Allow adequate time to dry

I waited about half hour initially and it was still wet so I just reapplied and let it sit overnight.

6. Replace jaw

Carefully place back the jaw. Check jaw looseness. If still loose, reapply another coat as above.

LOOSE ARM FIX

***Of course proceed at your own risk***

I used this product to tighten up the arms on Scoria. This was not as easy as the jaw fix but was easy enough. Now my Scoria's arms are tight.

1. Get this stuff.

Got it at Walmart. Just be warned, this stuff is sticky so I would use gloves but try to avoid getting this stuff on your fingers or else you may transfer it onto your Scoria. You will also need a toothpick and Q-tip.

2. Remove shoulder

I did this in DINO mode with the arm abducted slightly.

CAUTION: DO NOT FORCE THE SCREWS!

3. Remove joint

4. Coat the exposed peg

5. More coating

6. Allow adequate time to dry

Be patient. I let it sit for about half a day to 24 hours between coats.

7. Reassemble the arm

NP. Will post up arm guide soon. How many coats did you use? I had to use two but it made a big difference. I suspect if I do three, it will be perfect.

I did 2, debated on doing 3 but felt that 2 was okay. 3 would likely be perfect.

I'm still trying to sort out the hips but I think ultimately it has to do with the spring which isn't something I can really fix.

all of which are easily fixed aside from my hips issue which I am still researching.

If you had this guy in hand even with the looseness you'd agree this one is worth it.

there is nothing wrong with him... mp grimlock (mp-3) has more issues being sloppy than scoria has....

some with loose arms and loose mouths but most are all good....

my guys arms are fine a little sloppy but after a quick fix hes good to go

Re: Scoria Loose Joints - This Is What I Did

I just added the arm fix in the 2nd post.

@joshimus - it's an awesome figure honestly. Worth every penny even with the minor looseness (well not anymore).

Take a look at one at TFcon so see what the hype is about. I will be buried with mine, unless I get cremated, in that case, BURN SCORIA, BURN!
