Thanks Rob.

Please consider that this Thread (And previous years of this Thread) is put into consideration for every TFCon. There is a chance that the Requests we made this year will be considered for next year.

Also, it's May. There might be new announcements in the future based on the surprises we got in the last two years that were around June/July. Stay tuned.

I'm still hoping that they add another name in the next two months though.
See, I'm use to paying for guests' autographs and pictures from comic cons. I just feel like this year's guest list is by far the weakest in the past three years. I enjoy the convention and for what it's worth, but I also enjoy meeting and greeting with guests that interest me (mostly voice actors or people of true importance in the Hasbro community).

One could Argue Aaron Archer was the MOST important cog in the machine so to speak for many years. His panel should be very informative.

As for Artist Alley, I spend a lot of time there myself and its always packed with artists, I don't think you have much to worry about in that respect.

Re: TFcon 2014 Guest Request thread

In terms of Hasbro I don't really know who would be more important than Aaron Archer.

Maybe Bob Budiansky, but he has recently attended.

I feel like I am the only one who isn't overly estatic for Aaron Archer

Not weakest, but well rounded.

You have a former employee of Hasbro who has worked in the various angles of how the business worked: From design, to development, to intellectual property, and so on. That's Aaron Archer.

You have Voice Actors and a Voice Director who gives insight to how animation works from both inside and outside of the booth, share stories of their colleagues and lives, and give advice to future actors and directors who want to get into the industry. That's Garry Chalk, Neil Kaplan, and Susan Blu.

You also got talented people who bring the fiction to life through their art. Who advise you the benefits and drawbacks of the business. Their point of references for their stories or characters, what books they've read, what art they've seen, and gives you accessibility to commissions, hang out, or even give advise on how to master your craft. That's Sarah Stone and Andrew Griffith.

There's honestly more guests to come, but you have guests who are catering to the general preferences of the Fans. There are people who are interested in the toy business. There are people who are interested in the Voice Actors. And, there are people who are there to get art. It may be weak to your preference, but in the big scheme of things, the guest list is for everyone, not one specific group or individual. There is no such thing as a weak guest list, but how well-rounded and accessible they are to fans.

Archer has done amazing things for the business and fiction. His wiki entry will give you a brief idea of what he did, and hey, look, he does art things of many TF characters:

Just because I am not excited for him does not mean I am ignorant on who he is and what he has done. Don't just assume that my lack of excitement for him as ignorance.
