I went through this same debate before getting the 20th dvd version (from a fellow board member, hail cobra). If you are going for scale with the newer MPs, then mp-10 will likely look better on the shelf. Personally, I like that Mp-01/04 has all kinds of pistons and hydraulics on the elbows, knees, wrists etc. I don't have the trailer, cuz it won't fit on my shelf. But it stands tall above the rest of my alternators and classics line figures that make up my g1 season 1 shelf.

The difference between Hasbro and Takara MP1/MP4 are fairly significant no?

On the aftermarket, the hasbro version sells for peanuts while the Takara release is much higher...

I believe MP04 comes with the trailer ("Perfect Edition"). $300 might not be crazy for that one.
