Re: GameStop.ca (formerly EB Games) Transformers Sightings and discussion
Far as I'm concerned any character with a cool or unique design is fair game for mainline. I buy based on how much I like the toy, whether I have any connection to the character is secondary. I don't know how common this mentality is with Transformers collectors but there's at least one.

Makes sense. I also wonder how much of the pie "Collectors" account for with the Generations line.
Or more importantly, how much Hasbro thinks collectors account for it.
I'd certainly guess high for the Target exclusives.

They think collectors account for 30% They said that unllike with Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black Series, the main market for Legacy still skews on the young side.
If there was an abundance of collectors out there, we wouldn't have all those shelfwarming target exclusives.

I don't think that's the issue, it is other toylines being a money sink. Licensing fees for Starwars and Marvel can't be cheap, and the toys (especially Star Wars) do not sell.

Beachcomber and Devcon are back up for pre-order at amazon.com.
Might be useful if we're not going to be getting those up here. Otherwise, it's time to patronize the site's sponsors. I'm glad at least they will carry the deluxes.

They don't sell? Any data besides anecdotal what you've seen in your locals?

Far as I see, everything Hasbro sells. The bs about them not doing well in Canada and elsewhere sounds fishy. If anything the price hikes have been what's hurting their sales (and even then, a lot of their figures sell out).

30% decline in partner brands revenue in Q4/2022 according to Hasbros own reports. They also reported year over year growth, and lower shipping costs. A fancy way of saying the price increases we keep seeing is keeping them afloat while selling less.
Also anecdotally, every local store that sells toys has Star Wars shelf warming. Hell some still have last Jedi toys still.

Hahahaha I fucking knew it. The price increases were never genuinely because cost of production had gone up SO much. Selling less but charging more.
Ofc they're still selling less because the cost increases are affecting sales... Lmaooo

Anyone have Studio Series Scourge Ship yet? Has anyone had any news about it?
