Spring Cleaning

I spent a huge amount of time home alone today, so I decided to start spring cleaning.

And in the process, I had to move some of these toy boxes I've had in storage.

I removed all the plastic and cardboard inserts, and folded down the boxes. Made a hell of a lot more room that's for sure.

This way I can keep the boxes for the artwork and information on them. And they don't take up so much space on their own.

I would have preferred keeping everything, but I just don't have the space. I kept a few though, for Takara and Fans Project items complete. But all the Hasbro inserts, bubbles and plastic is going to have to go. Garbage day is Tuesday morning.

Now if only the house was this easy to clean up

Re: Spring Cleaning

Throw them in recycling... they take up even less space then. :P

Re: Spring Cleaning

I'm keeping the folded down boxes and the cards for the card backed items.

I wish I had the ones from my remaining G1s. I like the art, and once you removed the bubbles and inserts, they really do take up a fraction of the space they used too.

Now that you mention it, I'll try and get the pile to the recycling drop. I wish we had sorted pickups around here.

Re: Spring Cleaning

Yeah, around the time Armada came out, my entire closet was full of nothing but boxes...it was rediculous. Saved a lot of space just flattening everything, & keeping the backings If you see yourself selling something soon, however, maybe it'd be a good idea to keep that one with inserts for the time being?

Re: Spring Cleaning

Tossed a bunch of boxes last month. Polished my Firebird's rims on the weekend in anticipation of putting it back on the road soon (mostly because my winter beater's engine is acting like a friggan dick in wet weather...and April showers and all....).

Once I'm also done exams and shit I gotta really clean up the collection shelves....make room for all the new shit I've gotten in the last couple of months and clean up the Animated shelf for my eventual Botcon set and figs.

Re: Spring Cleaning

I still have a chunk of the house to go through. Weekends are about the only time I have time to get anything done.

Weekdays by the time I get home it seems like the evenings gone too fast

I need to wash and vacuum out the car soon too, now that the snow is mostly gone.

Re: Spring Cleaning

When my basement flooded last month, i hate throw away some of my boxes.

I have some more room now. I feel kinda better now because of it. I guess one could say some boxes had to die so the rest can survive.
