That was pretty cool.

e: never mind, I rewatched it. Though it's still not clear to me how the forge just does everything on its own.

That really bothered me. Optimus was dead and just touching the hammer and absorbing its energy, brings him back with a new body? That's not how the hammer works, or at least how the hammer has been shown to work. If it's that easy there would not be any question how Optimus comes back. It's a total cop out.
And just like that Darkmount is gone?
Leave it to Transformers Prime for quick answers and a return to the status quo
I'm surprised everyone enjoyed the ep so much, those scenes really took me out of it.
I'm going to rewatch it and maybe I'll enjoy it more.
BTW, not George Takei best work I think. Maybe it was being Alpha Trion or the voice of Sulu, but something was off for me.
And it was bugging me, why does Ultra Magnus's voice sound so familiar? Michael Ironside. It kinda blew my mind to find out he also voiced Darkseid.
edit: Saw it again and liked a whole lot more the second go. When I think of the power of the forge with the power of the matrix reformatting Optimus, kinda like in the '86 movie with Megatron reformatted as Galvatron, that makes sense to me and not the forge as a physical tool rebuilding Optimus as I thought it would be going in.
My favorite quote:
Optimus: "Commander?"
Ultra Magnus: "Sir, you're looking O_o... robust."
