I don't like beer. I don't like the taste and my stomach can't take most carbonated drinks. I don't even drink pop much.
Whisky - especially single melt Scotch, however, gets me. But I only take small shots. I don't waste the good stuff.

Have you tried better beer? A lot of people who don't like beer have only tried the cheap stuff like Budweiser and Kokanee. And there are a lot of different types that taste quite different from each other. But I can understand the carbonation aspect.
I'm definitely not a Scotch person. I've tried decent Scotch neat and on the rocks, and with/without a bit of water and it's just too peaty for me. It's not a pleasant drinking experience. But maybe I just haven't tried the right Scotch yet. I do like Canadian Rye with coke though. Tasty!

As all the other asians, I tend to be more light weight. Unless it's shots. Shots of hard liquor I can do for a while.

Yeah, you don't want to end up like The Hangover Pt. 1, 2 or 3.  My tolerance seems to be independent of the type of alchohol. But if I start mixing the probability of trouble increases.

Can't touch the stuff now, just like Jaeger. Just the sight of a Jack Daniels bottle reminds me of crashing through my friend's paper-thin dry wall in the basement suite of his folk's place, then upchucking into the bar sink, screaming "Talk to me Jack!?! Why Jack??? WHYYY????" while G 'n R "You Could Be Mine" blared away on the CD player...
Though I did manage to have a great mint julep last summer that didn't activate my gag reflex...must have been a better quality bourbon than JD.

LOL, reminds me of the time my girlfriend had my brother mix me some double-strength (without my knowledge) 'Doctor Peppers'... it's basically Kokanee mixed with Amaretto. Sounds disgusting but tastes surprisingly accurate and good if you like Dr. Pepper. So I discovered that night that shotgunning beers is difficult but fun, other people should not chug Crown Royal, never let the French kid walk home alone (in the snow...in Abbotsford), and A&W fries make for a satisfying barf.
I still love A&W fries.
And I've actually never tried JD. Not sure if I want to.

I used to promo and sample Granville Island Brewing...It's small patch product and not a cheap beer, but I can only have a small glass. I am just not a beer guy...

There are better beers out there, but understood. I'm sure you had enough variety to know you're not into it.
I hear one of my friends is getting some very nice Scotch for his upcoming birthday, maybe I'll have a chance to try it. No idea what it was called though...

Note...enjoy them while they're young and firm. After 10 years of marriage and 3 kids, watching the decline in my wife's once-sexy privates is like watching your favourite restaurant slowly burn to the ground.
Everytime you go back it doesn't look or taste right until one day it's just too far gone to even give a shit about...
