When it comes to Transformers, I would go for HLJ.

For everything else, buy from Amiami.

A/E saved me a boat load of cash due to conversion by paying up front.

Amiami have a point system where I can save $$$ on shipping. I have all my Play Arts Pre-Order stuff through Amiami.

May I ask why for the everything else to buy from AmiAmi? The product I have in mind this time is an SH Fig, but was considering for all future purchases.

Yes, I had always gone AE myself, and last year I was afraid rates would go up, so it worked fine to pay up front. But when I was in trouble, they just wouldn't allow me to cancel, even one of my orders was for a preorder that I just placed 2 days prior. No response whatsoever!!! This year, I am hoping rates go down this time as year progresses.

As for AmiAmi, why do you like using them?

I've never had issues with them, I've cancelled pre-orders before.

For me the point system helps. I rack up the points which in turn is savings on the next figure.

For me the point system is the difference where I save money.

Sure, I mainly collect Figma, I have a good amount of those bought from Amiami, sometimes I do get SH Figuarts, or accessories for figures in that scale. Gundams once in a while.

Amiami undercuts the competition by offering steeper discounts. If a site like HLJ offers in the past like 10% off then Amiami does 20-25% off. If HLJ does 25% off then Amiami automatically does 30% off.

So ya, like others have said Amiami is cheaper. And HLJ lets you cancel and customize your orders and how they ship. Both can be hit with customs as both declare full value.

edit: There's also Hobby Search to consider too. They are my third choice. Prices are comparable.
