EU kinda did that already with the Dark Empire graphic novel series so Lucasfilm/Kathleen Kennedy may steer away from that plotline.

Hard to see, the future is.

Oh we'll see Fett again, probably in his own movie. But he'll be a lot more heroic than we prefer if Disney gets their way.

If so, I've got a bad feeling about that.

According to EU, Boba Fett did not die in the Pit of Sarlaac, he was captured by it and later a fellow bounty hunter, Dengar, came by to rescue him. I remember because I too thought he died until a friend "educated" me on what happened to him after Return of the Jedi. Who Knew ??????

Yet Lucasfilm/Disney themselves just established that previous EU story lines are non-canonical, but coordinated EU sources going forward can be made canon at their discretion.

So Boba Fett "dead" or "alive" could both be true...from a certain point of view.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

Boba was already retconned as a clone. And there are many other Fett Clones. So they can do whatever they want...

Easy MULTIPLEX...no EU in the new trilogy and suddenly you're getting delusions of grandeur!
