So I recently returned the 60$ Gigawatt cause they didn't price match it to the 42$ price they had.
They refunded my total, but not my coupon I had used.
I contacted Amazon chat and got my $5 coupon back!
Here's the chat-script, in case it can help anyone else.
---
Amazon:I've checked and see that the refund for the amount of CDN$ 63.22 was issued to your credit card on December 8
You should be able to see the refund after 3-5 business days.
Me:I also paid with a 5$ gift card. I got the $63.22 back, but not the 5$ gift card.
Amazon:The promotion applied to the order will not be refunded.
Me:That's not right. The coupon was usable like money for amazon orders. I should get that back.
Amazon:However, as an exception I will add this amount to your account.
Amazon:I'm issuing a $5.00 promotional certificate to your account. This amount will automatically apply the next time you order an item shipped and sold by Amazon.ca. You won't need a claim code. For more information about using your promotional certificate visit:

Me:This is great. Thank you very much!
