Re: Who else uses Shmax?
Looking forward to the site being back up.
Good guys there, I've been trying to contribute as my time allows and I really like the sorting and identification database they have created.

This is a concern for certain TF collectors such as myself:
- half my TF collection is MISB; US Card or Canadian Card is an issue for me; Shmax differentiates US, Canadian, etc.
- for certain TF figures, there is a signifcant difference between the US and Canadian versions; for example, DOTM Leader Ironhide and Sentinel Prime
However, I also acknowledge that my TF collecting preferences is probably not representative of most TF collectors. In other words, my preferences is probably in the minority.

Due to Canada's bi-lingual language laws, the sound chip on the DOTM Leader class figures have been edited or modified. Specifically, when you press the button on their torso (or chest), the Canadian versions only pronounce their names, "Sentinel Prime" and "Ironhide", respectively.
As for the US Versions, Sentinel Prime and Ironhide say the following:
- "I am Sentinel Prime"
- "Good to see you alive, Optimus."
- "What has happened to the AllSpark?"
- "Ironhide here!"
- "Weapons ready!"

Odd, cuz it's not coming up for me.
Still getting the same msg
" Update: The shiny new server is ready! Well, almost. I still need to set up email, so I can have somewhere for all the emails that people never send me to not go to. The catch is that I don't actually know how to configure email, so I need to ask my neighbor, who does, but he's currently asleep. Quite an operation we run here, eh? Anyway, the worst is over, and we will be back online by this weekend."

Re: Who else uses Shmax?
Since Shmax is operating again, I've been updating my TF collection.
I noticed that the Canada toyline links have been getting updated and expanded.
When I first registered for Shmax, the Canada toyline links were very minimal so, I often posted my TF figures using the United States (US) toyline links.
Unfortunately, posting to the US Toyline links is technically incorrect. Our Canadian TF packages are usually the international tri-lingual versions (or even four languages sometimes) while our US counter part packages are exclusively in English.
Lately, I have been investing much time deleting my TF figures originally posted on the US Toyline links and re-posting to the Canada Toyline links (when available).
1. Am I the only one (1) who noticed this?
2. Am I the only one (1) who is re-posting to the Canada Toyline links?
3. Is it important to differentiate between US and International (Canada) packaging?
I would like some input from other board members who regularly use Shmax.
Thanx.
