The fact that they're releasing it so late (like a week before the release) is what worries me. Why didn't they release a demo earlier?

Might not be a good indication, since demo's actually lower sales of a game.

Lot's of games dont have demo's before release if they get one at all. I know of lots of games that dont get the demo until months after it's release so people will buy/rent it beforehand. Demo's dont always boost sales either especially if people know beforehand if it's a shit game or not.

agreed. Some companies want to release a demo to gain hype and will release before the street date of the game. Some companies will release after as it may not be a priority for them, and they may want the demo to represent the final build of the game.
