Do you guys have a G1 collection?

Its somewhat hard to believe but I think some of us do not want to collect the G1 toys for numerous reason.

- too expensive
- rare
- G1 toys are bricks
- etc

Yes indeed. It is my primary collection. Bricks they may be but I love em.

not a real one. i have some left over from my childhood. You mentioned all the reasons why I don't buy more G1s (except rare isn't a reason unless i try to do MISB)

Re: Do you guys have a G1 collection?

I have a few (mostly reissues) but I don't really care enough for them to have a large collection of G1 toys. I do want to get a headmaster soon though, but they're way too expensive for me right now...

My collection is basically a mix of everything. I want to have a few figures from every line.

Re: Do you guys have a G1 collection?

They're just unappealing as a whole....I like the characters and pretty much all of them have better more articulated versions in this day and age so I could care less about the original toys. Other then the few I had growing up, I just get the ones of characters I don't think will be getting a proper update any time soon or my favourite characters.

Re: Do you guys have a G1 collection?

I've always collected them - but not in any hardcore way. I'd get the odd vintage G1 off ebay, but not very often. I buy Takara Encores more than vintage (I prefer them to vintage) - but still, even that isn't much. The main reason is because I've been focusing on current lines a lot over the last few years.

It's funny you mention this because I've recently been thinking about shifting almost entirely to collecting only G1. I want to collect the originals now - the one's that brought me into the world of Transformers. And I think I will start with the Pretenders.

Re: Do you guys have a G1 collection?

I have a small collection of 20, but I'd love to get more. Only one is an original, the others are all reissues. It doesn't make a difference to me, as long as I have some kind of them. I try to collect seriously, but being a teen without too much money, I have a hard time affording them. That's why I have only 20.

Re: Do you guys have a G1 collection?

I have my old G1s from back in the day.
They're bricks. Not too interested in bricks.

I have some in my "special-edition-black-repaints" collection, though, that have been purchased in the past 3-ish years:
- JAFCon Prime
- Nucleon Quest SuperConvoy
- reissue Soundblaster
- Black Hot Rod
- Black Starscream
- Magnificus (black Perceptor)

but I think that's it...

Re: Do you guys have a G1 collection?

I am a G1 Opportunist. I will get them if they are cheep and fit with the collection. Also, good reissues are something that I will always debate buying.

I have been trying to get 84 full line for a while and I really want to have the g1(reissue prefferd) version of any masterpiece.
