Ironically, I now make a living working with computers, and it's everybody else that's wasting their time on Facebook and Twitter all day.

I wear my geek achievement as a badge of honour.

I had a similar situation, I was reading a "C" programming language manual while on the subway commuting to school and some sexy Latinas were giggling and teasing me and saying things like "Look he's reading a book on C, next he will reading D and E", but being the geek that I am, I just ignored them. This infuriated them to point where they were smacking and slamming the doors just to get my attention.

I definitely earned my Geek Achievement that day

Should have looked at them and said it's about "cups" and winked.

Though I'm not sure how I would have escalated that joke after that if it was me.
