I was considering an order, but then I saw a $5 handling fee (with shipping, or with pick up, didn't matter which).

Just wondering if anyone else is getting this? I tried checking out as a guest, so I don't know if that makes a difference.
No, nothing like that on my recent orders. I also just checked out as guest

Oh and there is limited stock left on Kingdom Scorponok at $14 if you are interested.
I saw the handling fee appear a year or more ago when I proposed buying a low $$ item. They seem to charge a handling fee if the dollar amount is too low. So I do the old "buy extra items for free shipping and no handling fee and return what I don't need in store" strategy...

For store pick up min 25 to avoid the handle fee I believe.

Re: Walmart.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

Good to know guys, thanks.

Still cheap ass by Walmart though, especially if you are picking up at store.

Oh well.

Thanks for posting. Missed out on the Scorponok with Walmart this morning but worked out even better as I have Amazon gift cards to use and free shipping.

Hopefully Amazon gets them back in stock.

Saw a petition in my email this morning to stop Amazon from dumping $400 million of new, undamaged, unused and returned goods in the landfill each year. I wonder how many and how much of that value is transformers related and does Walmart do this too? I weep to think some exclusive or hard to get item is just sitting in the dump.

It's sad but it happens. Cheaper for them to trash it then resell or resend back to the manufacturer.
Amazon I wish they would do price adjust on their items rather then buy a new one and send back, think of the other impacts on the environment as well.

France has outlawed the practice. In 2020 the passed a law basically making it impossible for most retail products to be destroyed/dumped. They have to donate, or redistribute the product.

It hit everyone from the small guy, all the way up to Amazon. It isn't a perfect solution, but it was a good start. Of course companies find ways to try and circumvent the law, but it definitely reduced the practice significantly. Though some think the big companies just kicked it down the chain to avoid the hassle. However I guess in the intended form it would see both a reduction in mass production/waste, and an increase in cheaper goods down the chain (ie liquidators).

I imagine a lot of other western/ 1st world countries will follow suit in the coming years.

I believe it's only stuff shipped from China, meaning, it's too expensive to shop back one individual item. Walmart is shipping from their wearhouse in North America to you, not from China to you.
