Knives, Swords, and...........Transformers?

Hey guys... Im curious if I'm the only knife nut on these forums? I'm sure there must be other fans of bladed tools out there who like Transformers, right.

Anyways, if you are into blades, what is your favorite, or EDC

Im really happy with my Benchmade 810sbk

Re: Knives, Swords, and...........Transformers?

Interesting. I happen to be a big fan of blades as well, but I don't actually own too many.

My main 3 right now:

SOG PowerAssist: My usual day-to-day carry tool. Helps me a lot because I work on electronics and arcade sticks and stuff, so the screwdrivers and pliers are extremely helpful, in addition to the power-assisted main straight- and serrated-blades.

Victorinox Explorer: A birthday gift from my wife (girlfriend back then) years ago, this one is still my favorite. It's been dropped and dinged plenty of times, but it's well-loved. The main blade has helped me open all my parcels when I used to receive them at the office, and the in-line Phillips screwdriver and scissors have been unbelivably useful as well. I don't carry it around as much as I used to, though, ever since I got the SOG. My only real complaint about the tool is that the main blade(s) are not locking blades.

Boker Credit Card knife: A really tiny folding knife that I only use when I'm dressed up (ie, in a suit for a wedding, etc). I normally don't carry a full wallet in those situations, so this one doubles as a money/card-clip as well. Obviously, in situations like that, I don't carry my SOG or Victorinox either, so I use this one to ensure that I always have a blade on me no matter where I go.

I've always wanted the LOTR replica swords from United Cutlery...

Re: Knives, Swords, and...........Transformers?

My first knife was a balisong. Bought it myself when I was only 10 and pretty much self taught.

I've always wanted to bring home a Kampilan, Dahon and finally a karambit. I imagine the latter to be extremely effective in close quarters. Even the name itself suggests it.

I've always wanted to learn how to use a balisong (for those unaware, it's the standard "butterfly knife" that's illegal to carry).

That, and I've always been intrigued by hook-swords (the ones used by Kabal in the Mortal Kombat series).

Re: Knives, Swords, and...........Transformers?

Yeah. I had to leave that knife back in the motherland before I moved. Not sure if I gave it to a friend or lost it.

I have a friend who had a huge collection. He explained to how some of the curved ones left people dead or suffering from their internal wounds for days before finally dying. lol

He use to hang some of them in his living room. I never felt relaxed having a sword hanging over my head. This was of course before having his kids.

I can't own any since the boss lady forbids them. I'm not even sure how to import them.

I'm pretty sure my wife would be ok with them; she's then one who bought me my Victorinox swiss army knife, but then again, that was more for functional use rather than it just being cool.

That SOG looks quite handy. How's the blade against plastic?

Funny, I've never used the blade on plastic.
Honestly, I mainly use the straight blade to open letters, and cut the packing tape on parcels; the serrated blade is usually for slicing up cardboard boxes.

I'll occasionally use either to peel an apple or something, though.
