Re: Hurray! I got my money back!
oh yeah, voltes v is probably the most iconic robot in Philippine pop culture. just check out this shrine.
no offense to Transformers, but this 'bot came out first back in the late 70s. that's why it's no wonder every Filipino robot/mecha collector grabbed at least 1 copy of the soc voltes v. here's mine...

Re: Hurray! I got my money back!
Nice, you learn something new each day. I had no idea he was so popular with Filipinos, I don't think that show aired in Canada during the 70's-80's?
I'm a big fan of SOC series too, I have quite a few:
Mazinger Z
Mazinger Z Black
Mazinger Z OVA
Great Mazinger
Boss Borot
Minerva X
Aphrodai A
Dianan A
Venus A
Grandizer
Gai King
Getter Robo
Getter Robo G
Silver and Black Evangelion
I'll post some pics if anyone is interested?

it wasn't probably because this show had some real violent scenes that weren't acceptable back then. same reason it got off the air back home. it made a great comeback in the late nineties especially with the kids who followed it all grown up by then.

It has quite a following in Hong Kong, too! The original toys from the period (esp. the early Japanese import versions) command big money. When I visit HK a few months back I saw 1 in mint condition in display... and I thought Fort. Max./Grand Max. w/ the Master Sword is expensive :P
When I was a kid I missed the chance to get one, so I bought 2 of this SoC version (One opened for display the other MISB)
