A bit pricey. I remember figuring a while back that most LEGO sets are about 11 cents per piece.

But I figure that I won't regret getting it...

Definitely, this seems like one of those sets that once it's gone, it's gone and the aftermarket prices will soar.

An option, if anyone fears missing out, is to download the instructions from the website, and in the future, one can buy all the pieces needed. There may be some pieces unique to the Optimus Prime set, but it should be possible to improvise a bit.

Well, they got their target demographic figured out. I mean, no kid is gonna buy this with his allowance. This is for adult collectors. Most of us are in the 30-40 yo range.

The only thing that breaks my suspension of disbelief is the lack of a row of detolf cases packed with other Lego, Transformers and other pop culture memorabilia and collectibles in the background.

Ya it comes with a large sticker sheet which im sure will get reprinted somewhere. I dont think it has many original pieces..

Again this is deciding between a titan class figure or a jenky looking OP for the shelf. This set is also supremely mass produced... every haul video of lego i saw yesterday people got it, everyone in line got it. Can still order it... i have a feeling this will be available for anyone who wants for a few years.

I had my order in within about 10 minutes of going live and am still waiting... (Not that I have time to put it together).

Do the instructions have one build it to be a robot or a truck?
