I just can't justify the price for "homages" to 80s toys when there is more than enough product out there catering to that segment of the market as direct updates rather than "homages"

Nope. The only one I was vaguely, vaguely interested in was that BW Dinobot homage they teased a week or two ago. But I wouldn't pay $55 for a loose homage to Dinobot anyways.

And yeah, doesn't look like they'll get even get funded unless someone comes in at the last minute and coughs up $12k. Which I could potentially see one of the people behind this doing(or at least be able to afford to do), but they'd be a fool to. They've obviously over-estimated their market.

In fact, it seems to be shrinking because it looks like the total has been going down as I've been typing this. I could have sworn there was at least 1 more backer and the the total was closer to $68,500 than $68,400.

I'm still not sure I understand what their toyline is supposed to be about. Pretenders with partsforming partners? Isn't that a step back from the original Pretenders?

They're supposedly for Pretenders, but they're actually new action figures.
This seems to be more He-Man type stuff.

I really liked the concepts of the robot-like jet dudes though. I heard from Vangelus' podcast that they had to choose a body type, so they chose the monster-like one rather than the robot jet one.
