AOE Leader Class Grimlock (light gimmick parts-former)

I never liked the Dinomode Leader Grimlock. Small dinky tail, long torso, but at least the bot mode is nice. So after trial and error I finally got Grimlock the way I want, mostly. He is a parts-former, which is the only way I could make it work with the look I wanted.
Still a work in progress, not done painting and I still have a couple mods to do, or test out before I actually do it.

Some things to note:
Being a parts former, I made everything fit together but to transform to robot, those parts come off and get placed aside. His entire underbelly comes off. Both feet come off (attach to the hands for dino mode), the dino head comes off and part of his back comes off. So yeah, parts parts parts, but I am happy with his dino mode so...I don't care.

His dino head has a light gimmick and the mouth has sorta hydraulic thingy in the jaws. Works, more or less, just not as detailed or accurate cause really, only so much space and parts. Still works so, looks nice enough
Also has interchangeable mace to swap out with fist and I will be extending his giant mace sword looking thing too. Obviously those are not done yet.

Dino mode:

Bot mode:

head is on a ball joint now

Here is everything he needs:

I will post more pics once I finish him. For now, this is a pretty good start.

Re: AOE Leader Class Grimlock (light gimmick parts-former)

Scale size comparison I quickly did with iphone. Not really sure what his size is compared to the original Leader Grimlock though.
Whoops.

p.s. I seem to love the AOE Dinobots for some reason. I have another Slug, Strafe and Scorn I plan on making more like the movie as well as making a Strafe into Swoop. Snarl and Sludge (or whatever their names are now) are also gonna be done, both in G1 style and movie. I've never bought so many doubles of figures in my life. Damn you Hasbro.

Re: AOE Leader Class Grimlock (light gimmick parts-former)

Thanks everyone. Really happy with how he's turned out so far. Still doing a few new mods but off to Mexico Thursday so...gotta hold off on Grims for a week. Is it sad that I kinda want my vacation postponed so I can finish Grimlock? Yeah...it's sad.
Oh well.

Re: AOE Leader Class Grimlock (light gimmick parts-former)

Adding a couple bot mode updates.
- Fist mace painted and is interchangeable with fist
- Longer mace weapon staff extended so that it fits his bot size a bit more.
- minor touch ups

Also, I trimmed down dino head horns cause I thought the angle and length seemed to much. Still working on his beast back and a couple other things. Will post pics when I get there.
