combinerwars idw starsaber

another commish for a client finished....combinerwars/idw/classics styled starsaber.basically a mix of all iterations except animated.

the shoulders were rebuilt with styrene and kibble.
the booster pack had a 3/16" gun hole added.
all wings have been modified and clipped to more resemble his wings in the idw verse.
styrene has been added to his head in order to achieve more of a match with starsabers unique fore head double square details.
his leg armors have been beefed up and had both machine guns and cannons added to them.
his stock chest was modified with styrene and more kibble.
his stock missile firing bfg was made into an even bigger bfg, which now resembles the bfg from g1 victory leo.
a lot of the paint scheme and details were done in a way to match idw's version and the g1 version, mixed together.
the sword is salvaged and butchered from a ko dotm leaderclass optimus.

jetmode

kick ass mode...

comparison with a stock cw leader jetfire

Very impressive. Excellent paint work, and great use of the guns and the visor.

no matter what paint it is,if someone tells you it's unchippable.....they're lying.
but there's steps you can take to reduce it like sanding, priming, prepping, etc.

for enamels,if it's the main base coat,i stick to automotive enamels put into spray cans.
keep in mind, sometimes the propellant they use can cause adverse effects....
if it's smaller enamels,i usually use testors model master bottle paints.

if it's acrylics,i only use Tamiya bottle acrylics.

a lot of times,if it was mainly painted with enamels,i won't bother clearcoating as the finish,if done right, should be durable enough.
if it's mainly acrylics,i almost always hit it with a uv clearcoat like krylon matte crystal clearcoat(from Walmart;P)

hope that helps....
