Re: Lego Collectible Minifigure sightings

Nice to see you join the party, Benzo! I, too agree that the minifigs are way overpriced and it would be nice for a break. Anyways, if you see them, tell me. If I see them, I'll tell you (or maybe you'd rather not know, seeing as they're so expensive(. That's what everyone else should do, report a sighting for they're area if they see them, that's the point of this thread. Well, that and discussion.

I fail to see what's so expensive about them? Oh sure in the states they are like 1.99, but for Series 3 it's going up to 2.99. Quite frankly I hope this doesn't change Wal-Mart's price of 2.86, because I already feel that that is a good enough price compared to the Impulse sets which are often a tad on the overpriced side for what you're getting.

At least you can affor five Mini-Figures for 10-12$ with taxes. If you bought five Impulse sets to troop build, say, the Manta Warrior you'd be paying over 25$ with taxes. Lousy LEGO Pricing, I remember being a kid and getting the same sized LEGO set for basically 2$. Why does LEGO have to be so expensive? Why does the cost of inflation have to affect it so much worse than regular Action Figures? Is it the piece count? The slowly dwindling supply of Earth's plastic? Or, is it just because everyone is getting greedier and greedier in this foolish Global economy?

Hell, wasn't it like five years ago you could buy a Polybagged Set for only 2.99$? Or am I thinking 2001 era LEGO Polybagged sets?

I so want to buy loads of new LEGO right now, but I'm broke and even if I did try to sell off some Transformers Armada/Energon/Universe/Cybertron I doubt I'd get enough for what I truly desire the most.

After all I'm not looking for a short term enjoyment I want the long term fun of building more and more LEGO! OK, no more ranting, stupid flu... Back to the comfort of Bed go I, I think.

I remember a few years ago Walmart broke off ties with lego over priceing, and all you could find was Megablocks. The Lego isles havnt been the same since.

My lego days go back into the 70's so yeah, lego has inflated in price even more so than most other brands, however, it has also picked up more movie licence than most toy brands, and has to pay for those licnec.. it's a crock, but it's business.

go to a store with lego, find 2 sets with about equal piece count, from two different themes, say... City and starwars. Starwars lego is priced higher, simply due to the licence and i figure a bit to do with because they know it's HOT and they can get away with it cuz the kids will buy it. It's in the schools now, spreading like wildfire, and every kid has to have it. Lego just soaks it up

Another skateboarder and surfer  Is that a black zombie in the back

I would love it they did blindpacks for licensed characters, such as SW!

I'm sorry, that would go against Hasbro's Monopoly... Excuse me... License Agreement with Lucasfilm in which Hasbro is the only company which can release 'Action Figures' featuring the likenesses of Star Wars characters... Thus LEGO Star Wars Mini-Figures can only be offered in LEGO Sets with vehicles and things.

That's one of the reasons why LEGO had to start gluing the Mini-Figures onto the Magnet Bases from the LEGO Magnet sets. And if you weren't aware of that new change I suggest you check out Brickset more.

Beisdes these Collectible Mini-Figures offer up a wide selection of new job types for any LEGO City display. Considering most LEGO City sets consist of Emergency Response Units in the Fire and Police departments.

I dig Series 4, but will I have any money to buy them when they hit?

^^^
That's a shame, I never knew they made magnet figs. I just looked them up on google, I wonder how easy it is to remove the glue?
