Re: Interesting and funny toy shopping habit

Make sure to don't be interested by Barbies, my little ponies, etc and starting to collect otherwise it will really be a section of no return.

Re: Interesting and funny toy shopping habit

Hahaa!! so the truth comes out

Its funny cuz i find myself picking up things from the shelf that I already have like a skorponok and then i look at it even closer than the one I already got. And then I put it back on the shelf.

Another thing I do is when I stand there and then a bunch of other TF collectors show up, I stand back and try to see what they are looking for and then in my mind I'm thinking "haha! there's nothing here suckers" LOL!! but then when they do find something that they do need (that I don't need), like a Jazz for example, I feel envious of them cuz they were able to buy something. But I wasn't regardless of what it was

I think we stay because even though they are all pegwarmers or stuff we don't need, ultimately there are still more transformers there than what we have at home and it compels us to stay cuz we wanna imagine ourselves swimming in them or something. LOL!

I do that too! walk stright to the TF section, take a quick scan for anything new, if none I'll check behind the pegs and then I just stand there just looking at the displays. I only do this a TRU though..

YES.

I do that at TRU.

I'll check the pegs, above the pegs, and then I'll stand there mulling what I want to do - as in if I want a Robot Heroes figure or something.

Then I go to Zellers, find that to my lack of surprise they have nothing but a horribly organised and overcrowded with old stuff toy section and go home.

Re: Interesting and funny toy shopping habit

I'm guilty of doing that all the time. Sometimes I will scan other sections and look behind other toys for misplaced or 'hiding' TFs.

Case in point, somebody had hidden a Voyager-Class Movie Prime in the Spider-Man section. Well tough break for the person who did that, because Prime is now on my computer desk

Might sound kind of lame but sometimes I stand around so long that clueless parents ask me for help, or I go and try to help them get something.

(that I am starting right now)
I also heard that he carries a wad of 20s to 'grease' stock boys into giving him unreleased merchandise.

As for urban-samurai's post, I do that exact same thing, but only at zellers...I think it is because it is such a mess I figure that there has to be something to buy...

I do the complete opposite at Zellers for the same reason. Haha!

It is such a mess, it discourages me from hanging around. I think I hang around the TRU cuz its so organized but lately its been nothing but Prime helmets and spygear, puzzles and chess sets.

Re: Interesting and funny toy shopping habit

Same here and the worst part is when you are leaving you get this feeling in the pit of your stomach that someone is going to restock the shelf as soon as your gone.

I am totaly aware of the parents clutching their kids as they walk past me waist deep in the pegs, plumber butt out, frothing at the mouth.

And the cashiers always ask me if i want a gift reciept. When you say no they do the half smile as if they have discovered I am a man child.
