ROTF Jetfire
Is it explained in the film that he was once a Decepticon who turned Autobot cause he didn't like the Decepticons way, and was sent by the Fallen to retrieve the Matrix, but then he was as left for scrap with the other Seekers. Now the question is, who are the other Seekers besides Starscream and Jetfire?

Re: ROTF Jetfire
he wasn't sent to retrieve the matrix.
he was sent to search out other "stars" and galaxies that had minimal life, perfect to sacrifice to the sun harvester.
he didn't leave because he didn't like the decepticons way,he left because he saw how the fallen was willing to sacrifice fully populated star systems in order to feed the harvester.
the only other physical mentions/forms of the other seekers were in the idw comics titled sector7.
one was an old ford model T, the other was a old school bi-plane like what the red baron used to fly.
starscream was never a "seeker" in bayverse.
(bayverse's version of a seeker was bots who could travel between multiple dimensions/universes,"seeking" unpopulated star systems to feed the harvestor, totally different than the "seekers" in almost every other iteration.

Re: ROTF Jetfire
How did the term 'seeker' come about to describe the jets, anyways? Is that an IDW thing?

Re: ROTF Jetfire
Still seems odd...like it was a fan-term that the fiction picked up and put into usage. What exactly are they 'seeking'?...I always called them 'jets'

Re: ROTF Jetfire
I thought it was because they carried heat-seeking missiles....and was later shortened to seekers....? I dunno

Re: ROTF Jetfire
legend has it that a Sears catalogue referred to the jets as Hunter-Seekers in 1984, and somehow it entered into common usage. All I know for sure is I've been in the fandom online since 1995 and it's been in use since long before then

Re: ROTF Jetfire
Read the TFWiki article I linked to! It wasn't Sears, it was JC Penny.
