Combiner Wars Devastator / Constructicons Review

Quick summary,…

Combined mode 8.5/10
Pros…
Really sweet combined mode
Sunbow Cartoon Accurate
Scales nicely with masterpiece toys
Very sturdy (doesn’t flop over like TFC stuff)
Great articulation
Great head sculpt
Cons…
Small head
Hands that fall apart easily
Stubby left leg
Non-matching tread colours

Individual Robot Modes 6.5/10
Pros…
Great headsculpts
Sunbow Cartoon accurate
Scales nicely with masterpiece toys
Very sturdy
Cons…
Longhaul is too big and out of scale
Bonecrusher groin won’t clip
Horrible elbow joints for all of them
Very simplistic transformation (although for some that could be a Pro)
Lack of paint applications

Vehicle Modes 6/10
Let’s just say my 4-year old daughter and 2-yr old son will love them in vehicle mode, lol… ‘nuff said.

Box 9/10
Great artwork; only shame is that the insert tray is cardboard instead of plastic or foam. Just realized the artwork doesn't match the figure much, lol.

Thanks for the review!

Can you tell if the treads can be swapped from one bot the other? I was thinking about trading with someone else to have matching treads...

Can you measure the box's dimensions and weight? I am trying to estimate shopping cost. Thanks.

I tried doing that while combining them; unfortunately, it doesn't work if you only have one set of constructicons. The holder for the ball joint is not located in the same position when you compare the left leg with the right leg. Switching scavenger's left leg and bonecrusher's right leg results in the treads not having enough clearance to shift snugly into position.

However, if you have 2 sets of constructiconsas you've proposed; I believe it can be done by switching the legs entirely from scavenger to bonecrusher. Not sure whether the tabs are aligned the same; I'll check the next time I fiddle with him.

That's what I want to know. Either have 2 figs with green legs or 2 figs with purple legs.
