MP-10 re-release listing up on Toysrus.ca

Page is up but he's not available to order yet:

$230 Canadian. More than twice the price of the original 2012 release. Maybe someone should let TRU know there hasn't been 230% inflation in the past five years.

Lol. That is one mental price. They're passing around some strong drugs.

Take into account the devaluation of the Canadian dollar over the past 5 years. It has gone from being on par with the US dollar in 2012 to currently being worth about $0.77 (up recently).

That still dosen't explain TRU Canada's ridiculously increased prices over the past couple of years though...

Maybe they saw some of the crazy prices that collectors are asking for and paying on here for it.

I think there's something to this. TRU's pricing is not that far off from what it might cost to import the same figure from abroad, with an exclusivity/convenience/screw Canada surcharge tacked on.

Re: MP-10 re-release listing up on Toysrus.ca

TRU most likely just got a high cost from Hasbro so they just have to set a high retail price. Big box retailers don't care about small stores selling niche products. Hasbro's profit margin had gone much higher since the Bay movie they think people will buy anything "Transformers" without thinking about price.

Personally, I think 3p companies are to blame for demonstrating to hasbro how much adult collectors will pay for a figure.

MP-10b is $100 preorder from AE, much better buy than this price.
