Re: Help with Storage/Moving/Packing

I've thought about this myself in recent months, now that my collection has grown. And this sounds like good advice if I ever had to do it myself.

The thought of transforming so many figures is intimidating though =)

Good Luck with the packing.

Remember helicopters or anything else with thin or flexible plastic that might break or bend should go on top, where it won't be subjected to the weight of other stuff on it.

Re: Help with Storage/Moving/Packing

Man, transforming them back into alt mode is kind of a pain. But fun! I had to use some youtube videos to remind me how to do them haha

Any good places to buy bubble wrap for cheap? I checked walmart and some place called gmpackaging but they were kind of expensive. Any other places I should check out?

Re: Help with Storage/Moving/Packing

If your packing up bubble cards remember to place a soft bit of paper/cloth between the bubble so they don't mark up in transit.

When I first saw the title of your thread, I thought you were asking people to help you move.

You can get 9' at the dollar store for a buck, but that might get a little expensive in the quantities you'll likely need it. I just steal mine from the shipping department at work, but I guess I'm lucky in that regard.

Good luck with the move. It sucks hard, but unpacking them again is the greatest feeling in the world... Well, after sex and morphine.

Hey, what do you mean when you say mark up?

Like a soft cloth around the figures, then wrap in bubble so the paint doesn't rub off due to friction from them bubbles?

Re: Help with Storage/Moving/Packing

Well about the packing materials, my dad told me to check places that rent moving supplies & trucks because they'll probably have bubblewrap & shit too.

Re: Help with Storage/Moving/Packing

Nice thread. Interesting to read about how other people store or clean figures and such.

I think he was talking about packing up MoSC-packaged figures so they're not in direct contact with each other, so the outside of the plastic bubble doesn't get scuffed by other bubbles, cards, or the container if you're worried about that.

As for bubble wrap, Staples has these boxes with a perforated roll inside:

I'd imagine there are cheaper options out there, but it's an idea.

Good luck.

Re: Help with Storage/Moving/Packing

As stated by Omega Supreme,..Yes the vibrations of moving will cause the bubbles to scuff (also A reason I wrap the loose figures in bubble wrap as it takes nothing to scratch a window glass painted or not ,.. things will move around and rub against one another in transit.
