Weird thing about Henkei Lambor

Just got it... and he doesn't come with the roof boosters unlike his Universe counterpart. At first I thought it was just missing but that accessory is not even shown on the box art or instructions.

I've been hearing that...too bad, I don't put it on him in car mode but I place it upside down and fold the manifolds inward to create a jetpack look

Re: Weird thing about Henkei Lambor

I think that's just it, maybe Takara felt the whole exposed mid engine look would be very "NOT Sideswipe" (Which is Sunstreaker's look). But yeah, you then lose the whole "Sideswipe's rocketpack" mode.

Re: Weird thing about Henkei Lambor

Is anybody bothered like I am with the unnecessary insert notches on Sunstreaker/Sideswipe on the roof? I was hoping they would have been closed up if they didn't serve any purpose for the characters. It would have been nice to be able to paint a black V-stripe on the roof for Sunstreaker without those notches in the way. And Sideswipe would look decent in alt mode, especially when we don't want to put the exposed engine on.

I'm speculating the two notches on the V-shape would be used to insert siren lights for a possible Red Alert. Either way, it should have been closed up for Sunstreaker/Sideswipe.

Re: Weird thing about Henkei Lambor

I personally don't mind that he doesn't come with one. He didn't have an exposed super charger back in the day so it's not crucial to me.

However if Takara could have found a way to make it into his original prototype Rocket Launcher / Flair Gun combo THEN we would have a problems on our hands.... rather they would.

I might attempt to close them up myself with some material.

Just wait for a Reprolabel upgrade kit with a cover-up sticker

Re: Weird thing about Henkei Lambor

Yeah it wouldn't work. The reprolabel sticker for the roof will give way to the indents and sink in a bit. It's not nicely flushed if you can notice it in their demo pic:

Back in topic, I'm getting Universe Sideswipe rather than Henkei to get the better-looking silver booster and use it on my Universe Sunstreaker instead. But then again, I just might get Henkei Sunstreaker for the spiffy chrome. Hmm.
